Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog, where I analyze different Instagram profiles every week and implement new ideas to my profile (@ivoshin).

This week I analyzed Denis Bouriakov, who is the principal flute of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Professor of Flute at UCLA. Although he doesn’t have the biggest following on Instagram, he is a fantastic flute player and makes the most difficult pieces sound SO easy!

Content Ideas
I really liked that he had so much repertoire on his feed, and that his thumbnails clearly showed the piece and composer. Unfortunately, I could not figure out how to do this after my posts have been uploaded. A tip for everyone, you can only add/edit thumbnails before you post!
Hashtag Inspiration
I was really inspired by his hashtags, as he had #flute in French, German, Italian and English! I thought this was a fantastic way to reach audiences all over the world, as music has no language!
With the current situation, my posts this week did revolve around the COVID-19. I decided to post a funny video to enlighten my audience during these hard times. Make sure to check it out! The company “Flute Specialists” also held a Social Media Flute Performance Competition, which I thought was a great idea to connect flutists around the world. I did submit a recording, but unfortunately did not place. Although I am a little disappointed, I am still thankful that I had the opportunity to participate, because it granted me new followers!

That's it for this week. Next week I will be bringing more tips and analyzing another profile. I hope you learned something new today and if so, make sure to come back next week to see who am I going to analyze!
